Kylian Breedijk –
A wonderful and authentic experience, exploring the Japanese countryside along with the guide was incredibly fun. You truly get to take a peak inside the lives of the locals in the area, including their traditions, rich history, and their kindness and hospitality.
Seeing the careful and precise practice of butchering was also a very interesting experience. They make sure to truly use every part of the animal and make sure nothing is wasted, it reflects how in touch with nature the hunter is and that the killing is not taken lightly.
Mattias Dannhagen –
The nature in the area is beautiful and peaceful.
First, we met up by the station, where our guide spoke English in a nice and welcoming manner.
We then went on a tour to see the traps, and hear the explanations. When things were unclear and I asked for further explanation, it was explained nicely to the point of understanding.
We got to learn about trap making, and even setting our own traps,
we got to learn about butchering in detail as well.
There were fun times too, trying some japanese foods, while being able to experience Japanese culture along with the beautiful various sceneries, including waterfalls.
The hunters really work hard, and make life better for those around them.
Even if most of them don’t speak English very well, they were very kind people, and as I could communicate with them a bit in Japanese as well, I was very happy to get to know them.
Going on a tour with them was a valuable, fun and tasty experience, and I really hope they do well with their goals.
Also, regarding treatment of animals, animals are treated kindly, and with respect, not just spiritually, but regarding each step,
the traps aren’t designed to torture or slowly kill animals, but to set up for a more precise and efficient method.
Thank you so much, /Matt
